I didn’t know it was that competitive / a step up on B5 but I guess given the market.
The guy who referred me didn’t really know me that well, maybe they only gave interviews to those with very warm connections to the firm.
Or just straight nepo kids, knowing them
How bad is nepotism in Canadian IB or RBC? I know it exists but I've also seen people enter IB without many deep connections
I'm just throwing shade but it's noticeable given the lack of junior seats, along with Western/Queens mafia

Canadian IB is nepo capital irrespective of any bank. At networking events, have heard asso,VP share experience about directors just bringing in candidate. And also a couple directors that were drunk enough to share proudly bringing their *insert semi-qualified nephew/neice here* on their team.
Not just Big5, the globals also have rampant nepotism and favoritism.

Process is done man not sure why you refuse to accept the fact that you didn't get an interview / offer
Talked to someone at RBC earlier. All FT spots are already filled including PUI, Calgary, and M&A. Some a week or two ago.
Don't trust your application portal, it's just HR being HR. They don't give a shit about you.
Are you dumb? Time flows forward. Anything that had (past tense) FT process open was filled.
ECM is a completely new spot that just popped up.
