Re-Recruiting FT from a Lower BB Before/After SA

Hi,

I’m joining a low-tier BB this summer as a SA. I come from a good target with most of my resume in good order (good GPA, decent EC involvement, etc.). Assuming I am fortunate enough to receive a return offer after my SA stint, I am wondering if anyone has any experience or advice on re-recruiting for FT from a low-tier BB/EB.

I’m vaguely aware about the FT process during the internship itself (networking quietly, balancing getting the return but also interviews after, etc); however, I’m still on the fence on if the additional grind will be worth it. My goal is to hopefully exit to an UMM+ PE/PC shop; however, given my bank’s recent exits, it seems like that is more than feasible already (although I’m not sure how much longer exits will lag behind bank dealflow). Given that the only firms I would gun for would be the top BBs/EBs, as they would be the only upward moves, is it holistically worth giving re-recruitment a good shot in my circumstance?
