Real Estate Pitch Deck vs PitchBook?

I work at a boutique investment bank focused on capital raising for real estate. The job is not exactly what I expected because a lot of the real estate firms we work with create their own pitch decks. I thought that I would be creating CIMs and marketing material, however, the firms we have worked with create their own presentations and we act as an intermediary between them and capital sources. Is this normal? I want to gain more work experience and have samples of work for future interviews? Should I ask for more responsibility or try to work at a different firm?
