Real Estate Private Equity Internship?
I have a real estate private equity internship for the summer as a Sophomore. I also have experience as a part time worker at a real estate brokerage. If I am trying to break into IB for next summer (I'm at a semi target) is it a good idea to apply to banks with real estate IB groups like JPM and say I want to be in the RE, gaming and lodging group in the application and if applicable in the interviews? Or is being too specific about what group I want a bad idea in general and will lower my overall chances? BTW that would not be my ideal group but beggars can't be choosers. Just thinking maybe being specific about it will help my chances since it's not the most popular group. thanks monkeys
