Reality Check - Scotiabank Analysts
I'm gonna be completely honest. I go to a solid university, have a great GPA, and have 4-5 legitimate investment banking internships under my belt, all in M&A. No nepotism, no daddy's connections. I earned every single one of those internships, including multiple off-cycle roles and a summer analyst position.
I've worked on multiple $500M+ capital raises and M&A transactions (many of which have closed in 4 months because we used to pull all nighters all summer). I've built CIPs, MPs, full-blown LBOs, SOTPs, and three-statement models. I know Excel and PowerPoint like the back of my hand, with or without Macabacus. I know every singel shortcut someone could ask me memorized, I'm literally dreaming about them atp. I've done the modeling, sat on live deals, dealt with clients, and put in the hours.
I know my technicals. I can walk you through every single deal on my resume, defend every number, and answer questions that go well beyond traditional banking technicals. Throw market-making questions at me if you want. I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I don't know my shit.
And before anyone assumes I'm some socially awkward Excel monkey, I actually have a life, know how to talk to people, and can hold a conversation without making it sound like a networking call.
I'll work harder than 100% of the applicants you're interviewing, and I'm confident I could outperform most of them in an interview. I know what I'm bringing to the table, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise just to sound humble.
I'm genuinely sick of networking, sending hundreds of emails, and begging for coffee chats when I've already done everything people tell you to do to break into this industry. I don't need another person telling me to network harder. I need someone to give me a fucking shot.
Real question: Can I PM anyone here for a referral? I'll make you look good.
If you are as good as you say, you’d have the offer pal
didn't even apply to the role yet big dawg. also I have 3 offers but would rather be at a larger platform.
