Recruiting decision-makers
I'd assumed the majority of recruiting decisions, especially in early stages are taken by third-party firms/dedicated HR teams (for London) and realised this can't be compatible with 'nepo hiring' - what good is it knowing an MD if the person screening your application is in a separate role/an analyst who was randomly assigned you? I'm wondering how much involvement the bankers themselves have at each stage of hiring processes.
