Recruitment Scene in Canada

I am about to start my banking analyst stint in Toronto, and was wondering how the PE/HF/VC recruiting scene looks like after the 2 years.

Do we get emails from headhunters once we start banking or would we have to reach out to them?
How early does the recruiting start?

Would appreciate any info/help. Thanks.
