I am about to start my banking analyst stint in Toronto, and was wondering how the PE/HF/VC recruiting scene looks like after the 2 years.
Do we get emails from headhunters once we start banking or would we have to reach out to them? How early does the recruiting start?

It's pretty non-existent unless you're at specific groups at RBC and BMO or some of the globals. All others are more a fend for yourself process.
They will start reaching out to you. Also, you should know some people on the buyside after working in IB for awhile that you can start to indicate interest to.
