i really wouldnt list it since you barely did anything - you will get ripped apart.
list exactly what you did and be sure to know your shit about the deal. the interviewer will understand if you literally just signed the deal (assuming your interview is in the next month or so) so you wouldn't have gone too far in the process anyway. Be sure to know things like valuation, why the deal is happening, the key players, what you included in the pitch, and things about current debt markets. I would also double check with your boss on what info about the deal is confidential.
Interviews are happening in early January but submissions are now for me so I want to squeeze this deal on my resume. The md has said this is the deal I'm going to be working on in the coming weeks so hopefully I will get some work on it soon before the actual interviews. What are the first stages of a restructuring deal? Restructuring seems to move at a lot slower pace than m&a. Is the valuation the same as m&a? I've worked on a number of m&a deals and I'm pretty familiar with valuation... or so I think.
Also, if the debtor is a public company then everything besides the company name should be safe to write right? Do you quantify creditor side deals by the amount of unsecured debt or total debt?
Thanks!
How to put restructuring on resume? (Originally Posted: 01/31/2015)
Ladies and Gentlemen, WSO has been really helpful throughout my time trying to get into investment banking.Recently I was on a high profile restructuring deal which went successfully. Now I wish to put it on my resume but not quite sure how to do it.Would you be ever so helpful to give me some of your input? The deal was about demerging one entity into a separate business then getting it listed.
I think 'equity carve out' is the word you're looking for
spin-off (shareholders remain the same basically) vs. carve-out (new shareholders)?
