Resume book for new hires?

HR is asking for an updated resume and a passport photo. Then, I remembered someone on here talking about HR creating/distributing a face book w/ resumes during training. Can anyone confirm this? I really don't want my resume to be seen openly because it contains personal information.

The problem is that the internal facebook is essentially a long PDF that everyone in the division (including the summers) will have in their email inbox.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm reading it as you don't want your peers to know your GPA. In which case (or if not, regardless) simply send them an updated resume without your GPA or the personally identifiable information that you are concerned about. You have the job; you now have the freedom to include as much or as little information as you want.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Well, I believe most people already know which group they're joining.

I couldn't care less about my GPA but do not want my full name and picture to be freely accessible. Also, I understand that I cannot withhold my basic info of employee directory(except for the pic), but sending a PDF to everyone in the division seems to be unnecessary..

If you don't want your name and picture available to other people, joining corporate America (and an industry where background checks and relationships matter) was not a strong move. People will be able to find you in the corporate directory, your picture will be there as well, and your picture will be on an ID you need for building access.

Anyone who wanted to has already or could easily get your resume anyway. What are you worried about them stealing your awesome Identity?

I could take my pic off of directory when I was an intern. Let's just say that some bottom feeders in media like to know what I'm up to. I'm not famous but my family is, sort of. My info had completely been withheld in college, and I wish to remain anonymous. I've already sent in my resume (with GPA) and photo but was merely wondering what they were for. I was hoping that HR would only use my photo for a security ID, but it looks like they're creating a facebook..

Who gives a shit? Your username is fitting as someone said.

^Can't hide forever. Might as well use your ID as a stepping stone to get noticed. Now that you'll have a bullseye on your back, work hard, be respectful, and then people won't give a crap b/c you'll be a friend. Easy.

Haha, funny you mention this OP. Recent internship at a managed ETF and mutual fund was hiring MBA summer interns and one of the applicants listed on their activities as "likes to cut men's hair" haha. True story.

It's a normal practice and it helps put face on a person's name. Personally, I have no problem with that.

Competition never sleeps. Then again, chances are that neither do you.
