resume format question
How would your write your resume when you have to bullet points referring to the same deal? Right now, I have something like
-built model for a $45 M transaction -did market research for a live $45 M transaction
Is it ok to repeat the $45 M?
It seems a little redundant but I would like the reader to know that it was for a real deal.
i believe you write the stuff under a section called "selected transactions". its as follows (i think):
Selected Transactions: Company XYZ - $45mm LBO of a steel manufacturer - built LBO, IRR, compensation plan for board, interviewed ABC trade publication for due diligence etc. Company DEF - $30mm buyout of a aerospace equipment manfufacturer - ...........................................etc
pls correct me if im wrong
I like the above posters format. I always lead off with "Select Transactions" or some other equivalent title. Then you can do the above, or if you like bullets (I like bullets usually) you can have the primary bullet be the transaction name/company and secondary bullets (slightly indented)describing your particular responsibilities:
(Bullet)Company X bought Company Y for $XX million - sellside advisor (Sub bullet)Managed modeling and drafted offering memo
Or something like that.
IBanker www.BankonBanking.com Articles, News, Advice and More Break Into Investment Banking
That's how I would write it as well...
I thought you shouldn't mention specific company names?
if the info is publicly available, I don't see any problem (like the bank or boutique has the thumbstones in their website, for example)
