Rising Junior Worried About Future (Breaking into IB)
Basic resume for reference:
Rising Junior at Duke, no connections, not diversity
Econ (concentration in finance) major, CS minor: 3.81 GPA
Summer 2022 Federal Reserve Intern: Working with competitive analysis of M&A between banks/holding companies and assessing financial health of said institutions (my only somewhat relevant experience)
Previous Experience: Waiting tables at several restaurants (not relevant but still put on resume)
Several at university clubs (1 leadership position), and one Summer NOLS course (backpacking in the wilderness for 30 days)
I know my resume is kind of funky, but I'm currently trying to break into IB and I'm seriously concerned because I don't have an IB offer for next Summer (assume it's going to stay that way and I know Junior summer is usually a big deal) so I'm starting consulting recruiting to see if I can at least land something. Curious on next steps I should take other than prepping for technical and behavioral interviews, and reaching out to current employees. Any help would be much appreciated.
