Based on the most helpful WSO content, tedious questions involving detailed calculations, such as those from the KM (Knowledge Management) section, are not typically a major focus on the Series 79 exam. The exam tends to emphasize understanding concepts and applying them rather than performing extensive calculations.

Here are some tips to prepare effectively:

  • Focus on Concepts: Ensure you have a strong grasp of the underlying concepts rather than just the calculations.
  • Practice Mental Math: Simple arithmetic errors can be costly. Practice mental math tricks to save time and avoid mistakes.
  • Review Common Formulas: Be familiar with the key formulas and when to apply them, but don't expect to spend a lot of time on lengthy calculations.

Good luck with your exam!

I will say: KM kinda downplays the calculation questions (they’re always like ohh don’t worry there won’t be that many of these on there) but when I took it I probably had 8-10 multi step calculation problems. Nothing too hard but I definitely would spend some time on them.
