SA housing in connecticut?

Got an offer for the summer and it's based in Darien CT if we go back in-person. Is anyone doing their internship in the CT area as well? What does the housing situation look like? Thought about living in NYC for the social aspect but also don't want to deal with the reverse commute

Reverse commute would be absolutely brutal - dont do it. Hopefully you have friends that will be in NYC and you can just crash there on the weekends that you go in. That would be optimal.

I had a friend that lived in Stamford for her FT gig, she had a nice 1 BR apartment after she subleased somewhere. I'd check around for subleases, or worse case a long term AirBnB.

Go all the way

One of my roommates had a SA gig in Stamford the other summer and decided against reverse commuting. Honestly he saved a good amount of money and roomed with other interns in Stamford in a pretty cool / cheap apt. Secondly, he would just hop on the train on Friday right after work and be in the city 45 minutes later. Stayed with other kids for the weekend and repeat.

Would also advise against the reverse commute. Worked in Stamford for awhile, and while it’s no NYC, you do avoid the reverse commute, and are close(ish) to both the city and Darien. Had some colleagues commute in from NYC and hated having to do it everyday. Whereas if you live in Stamford you can choose when you want to go into the city. I know this isn’t ideal at all, and I wished I had a job in NYC every day I was in CT, but I am so glad I didn’t waste so much time on the MTA. Grind it out in CT, and get a FT in NYC
