Santander vs. SMBC vs. Nomura
Hi all,
Incoming SA26 and have offers from Santander CIB LA, SMBC CIB Coverage NYC, and Nomura Fixed Income. From a target school (think Harvard/Wharton/Georgetown) and interested in industrials or consumer. Long term goal is MF PE. Leaning towards SMBC, but would love to get perspective on the firms and which option is best.
Congrats on GTown son
If your goal is MF-PE you won’t get it from any of those places. Take an extra semester and rerecruit for something better. If that isn’t an option, take Santander. LA office is arguably their strongest and is far better than SMBC or Nomura. You’ll have a real shot of lateraling to another shop after some time that you could potentially land MF-PE from.
None of these firms will give you any advantage in MF PE recruiting. You'll have to network hard and cast a broad net.
Should go to Santander for this.
Typically nomura but need more info on the teams of each
Any reason why specifically smbc?
