Series 79 Study Time and Best Practice

For those who have taken the 79, I have a few questions:

  1. Does it matter to study for it before your first day of FT? or will you have enough time once you start?
  2. How long did your bank give you to study after your start date?
  3. How did you study for it while working?
  4. Is it better to focus more on taking practice exams or reading the book cover to cover and making flash cards?

Any other recommendations and best practices would be great!

I understand that the test has changed since last year with less questions (75). I'd love to hear your input on how much its changed compared to the old version
