Shave for Interview?

I have a couple IB SA interviews coming up which are all virtual and I’m wondering if I should shave my beard I’ve been working on for a while. I cleaned it and cut it a little bit shorter. Wondering how strict bankers still are with beards? Thoughts?

Interviewed at a BB last year with a beard, got the SA offer. Did the summer with an even longer beard and converted.

Like above poster said, do what you think would make you more comfortable/perform better. Also no point in shaving it if it’s going to make you miserable.

i personally think people don’t care if you have a beard or not anymore... as long as it looks somewhat presentable!

good luck

In-person interviews, beard is totally fine

If your interviews are on Zoom, you can have a beard but you need to be much more aware of the lighting and background. You can easily look unkempt over video even if you're dressed up and a beard doesn't help that. Would recommend hopping on Zoom either by yourself or with a buddy to see how it looks, but unless you have amazing lighting I'd shave

I would go one step further-the fact you are posting on here clearly means you would shave it off but just would prefer not to.

i have interviewed a lot in my career (as in have been the interviewer). Simple tip and question-why wouldn’t you shave? You have nothing to gain and everything to lose, because you quite like your beard at this age. If you are posting on a forum questioning it get rid.

Feel free to take a picture and DM me so I can double confirm to get rid of that bum fluff.
