Should I disclose to HR I had cancer?

Incoming analyst at a BB. Like title said, I am a cancer survivor on remission. I am wondering if I should tell this to the HR or not? The only accommodation I need is that I need to see an oncologist every few months, so 4-6 sick days off in a year. Should I just use my PTO and not tell anyone about my condition when I am having doctor visits?

I am concerned if being a cancer patient can lead to discrimination. What are the pros and cons of disclosing vs not disclosing? Any input will be appreciated.

Hi a bit more complicated and not sure WSO best forum to be sounding out questions like this. A few key questions are what state will you be employed as some states are much more employee friendly (ie CA) vs others. Will you need any kind of special accommodation?  It is very atypical to disclose specifics of a medical condition (unless you think it affords some sort of protection based on state or other factors) and rather focus on what you may need to do the job (the accommodations element) as I am not sure what telling them gets you. Firms are generally not allowed to ask either. You should look into this with a professional or doctor for advice so as not to compromise your rights.

Is banking a wise move with cancer in remission? I get it’s in remission and all but banning is not easy on the body.
