Should I network with EVERY firm I apply to?
So if I decide to spray and pray and apply to all of the BBs, EBs, and some PE firm summer analyst positions, should I aim to network with at least some people at each firm? How many people per firm would I have to aim for?

Yes, but realistically you won’t.
I don’t think it hurts just to shoot out a resume or a cover letter to a portal and hope they pick you.
If you’re at a target, there’s a decent chance that you can get some interviews from MMs without having to network.
For me, there were 2/3 firms that gave me a look without me doing networking.
