Should I start networking already for FT when I have an SA internship?

Some told me I should wait until halfway through my SA internship at my regional boutique, or else the bankers would be curious why I was trying to network.

The partner told me that since the firm is smaller, they're unsure if they could hire me full time even if I did the best job possible. It would depend on the deal flow they've had for the year.

I think that if the Partner of the firm has told you that it depends on dealflow - I would start networking now. That's a soft answer to say that they don't have a lot of slots available.

So, I would try and get into all of these processes as possible. Obviously, don't let networking overtake your actual intern work - turn things in at a reasonable time, don't step out for hours at end, and be responsive, but take initiative and try and get yourself a new offer.

Best of luck, and hoping that everything works out your way.
