Signing Bonuses for FT?
What are your thoughts? Given that the markets have bounced back rather quickly and deals are slowly on the rise, do you guys think signing bonuses will be the thing for incoming full time analysts next year?

At my MM, signing bonuses are rumored to be 0. the bank knows FT recruiting is going to be impossible and there will be plenty of people in line for a seat if someone is dumb enough to turn down an offer because they aren't getting a $10k signing bonus.
What about associates?...since those bonuses are 50kish
At the end of the day, signing bonuses are designed to convince you to choose that firm, and there's been inflationary pressure on bonuses because banks try to 'outbid' their competitors to get the best talent. However, if banks are completely confident in their retention this year, why would they shell out that much money for signing bonuses if they don't have to? Maybe at a BB its a big enough organization that no one is going to call it into question, but I think smaller banks are definitely going to be reconsidering their bonus.
