Someone explain to me the neuroticism of this industry

I understand that both IB and PE is filled with neurotic people across the levels, and I'm sure that its a large result of self selection since these career options give among the best paths possible to a relatively high net worth. And its also clear that at the junior levels that lends itself to ideal traits like attention to detail, so it makes sense that its selected for as well. But it just doesn't make sense to me that I still constantly hear about how being highly neurotic is a good trait at the senior levels. I just can't imagine how having a lower stress tolerance and constantly helicoptering over juniors would lead to better results. Particularly in investing roles, it seems to me that being so heavily skewed on the risk tolerance scale would be a massive detriment. And I guess I'm also curious if its better on the venture and growth side so maybe that is an area I should head towards instead.
