sophomore program timelines

hi everyone, i'm a rising sophomore at a non-target, which sucks but oh well. how on earth does everyone find these sophomore programs so fast and apply to them. i feel so behind with sophomore programs and they're closing before i even find out about them. any advice as to how to find them all/get updates when they come out? this process is insane

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some strategies to stay ahead in finding and applying to sophomore programs:

  1. Networking:

    • Spend 60% of your time networking with regional/industry-specific boutiques for sophomore positions.
    • Use the remaining 40% to network with top-notch firms for junior year positions.
    • Start networking now for junior year and follow up periodically with updates.
  2. Utilize Forums and Threads:

    • Regularly check forums like Wall Street Oasis for updates on open programs. For example, there are threads discussing open programs such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, BAML, Citi, UBS, and others.
    • Engage in discussions and ask for updates from peers who might have more information.
  3. Diversity Programs:

    • Look into diversity programs that are feeders for sophomore internships. For instance:
      • Goldman Sachs: Emerging Leaders Series.
      • Morgan Stanley: Freshman Enhancement Program.
  4. Recruiting Timelines:

    • Be aware that recruiting timelines can vary. Some programs might open as early as May/June, especially for diversity/female candidates.
    • Keep an eye on application deadlines and try to apply as early as possible.
  5. School Resources:

    • Utilize your school's career services and alumni network. They can provide valuable information and connections.
  6. Online Resources:

    • Subscribe to newsletters and follow relevant social media accounts of major banks and financial institutions to get timely updates on internship openings.

By following these steps, you can stay informed and increase your chances of securing a sophomore internship. Good luck!

Same here. Now I'm just going on google maps and searching up "investment" and adding firms to my excel sheet. Would be happy to share if you're based in Atlanta as well.
