Sports Banking
Hey guys. Very interested in Media/Entertainment/Sports. More specifically sports. Which banks are strongest in sports? I know Bofa has the top sports desk for IB. I know Raine is strong. Who else ar esome players?
GS has 3 banking teams that focus on sports
Was told the infra Sports team does most of the M&A for teams. TMT covers "sports" entertainment clients ie. WWE vs. Infra Sports will sell you an NFL team
Incorrect. TMT executes most of the sports advisory work (think team sellside, WWE/UFC merger, NFL Media strategic alt, etc). Middle Market group (CMG) will take deals that are too small for TMT to do. Infra team will only come in if there’s any stadium / facility financing related transactions
in Europe, JPMorgan Media & Comms team and Moelis are good players for sports
Moelis LA is the us has done a good number of sports deals
Allen & Co and it’s not particularly close. Have fun breaking in there though. Place is a nepo factory - literally don’t think you can get into their process otherwise

PJT just lost their top guy. You could try specialty sports boutique banks (Inner Circle Sports, Galatioto Sports Partners, Game Plan, WB Grimes, and Park Lane)

this. They are literally on every major sports deal. GS is still in it's nascent stages and I hear the culture for the sports team for infrastructure sucks.
