Spring week - CV and cover letter review

Hi WSO community,

Would anyone be so kind to take a look and critique my CV and cover letter as I am applying to spring weeks. I really appreciate your time and will make a conscious effort to respond and implement your comments. Any feedback on any part of the CV and/or cover letter is much appreciated.

Many thanks

CV and Cover Letter are attached as a file.

Question: I'm not sure how to detail specific stock recommendations regarding the equity research experience and stock pitch competition. Is it even appropriate? If yes, how would I go about describing the valuation/pitch?

Miscellaneous:

Cover Letter for both Investment Banking and Global Markets spring week. This is for Goldman which has a 300 word restriction so I abandoned some conventions for this application only.

Incoming first year in UK borderline semi-target school. Had 1 year of uni experience prior explaining the president of business club.

By no means an expert but looks decent. Definitely have more experience than most at this stage!

Springs weeks seemed like a complete crap shoot to me (Also from a UK uni)

Not sure if space but might be worth adding why transferred uni? Will be most people’s first question on reading the resume

Hey thanks for taking the time to go through my CV and respond. I thought of omitting the information and just include my high school but that would hurt integrity. Also, I think the GPA from the previous uni was not bad. I don't think having a transfer would be an automatic ding, however experiences on the CV would by far be more important when considering merits and me as a candidate. They would ask during an interview at most and I would be able to answer. What are your thoughts?

I've browsed the forums and seems that spring weeks are a crap shoot in general. Would be interesting to hear from your personal experience why they were like that for you?

Agree that it should stay, just trying to make you aware that the transfer is likely the first thing people will notice.

Main reason I think it is a crapshoot is a lot of the people in the industry expressed this! Also, from my own experience the spring weeks I did get were very different processes and one I performed very poorly in because it was my first  tests/ VI. Furthermore, unlike summers, seemed very hard to predict who would secure offers and who wouldn’t, did not seem based on ability.

For that reason, I’d recommend applying to as many as possible and also be nice to HR as they seem to be the most able to move things along.
