Starting Career in Leveraged Finance

I recently accepted an offer to be a 2026 Summer Analyst in LevFin at a BB! I am super pumped for this opportunity and am very interested in credit.

I would appreciate any views on how you think LevFin will shape in the future and if it’s a good group to start a career in.

How will my exit opps look? Will it be more credit facing or will MF/UMM PE be possible?

How modeling intensive/ technical will the group be and will I be prepared for the rest of my career? Would it be wise to switch to a coverage group after a year or two in LevFin and exit from there?

Would greatly appreciate any answers to these questions or just about anything LevFin (day to day, a little bit more on what you do as an analyst). Thank you!

Hey would it be alright if I PM'd you as well? In a similar situation where group selection hasn't completely wrapped up but will likely be joining a levfin group at a BB

I interviewed at KKR in their London office recently and a few of the PE associates were from a LevFin background at GS/JPM/MS.
