STARTING COLLEGE'S FINANCE AND CONSULTING CLUB.
My college doesn't have a finance or consulting club so I plan on starting one.I will give a PowerPoint presentation to the dean and other senior professors on thursday about the club and tell them why it is needed ,what I plan to do etc etc.
So If you all were there in any business or finance club what all did you do ?Any ideas ?
And how good will it look on my resume that I found and presided over the finance club?
Alumni Discussion Panels, Speaker Events, Networking with Alumni, Stock Market Challenge, Shark Tank Meeting (Learn about VC), Have 3 people speak about careers in finance maybe one IB, one WM and another in Consulting and have them answer questions and speak to the nuances of each career. Resume and Cover Letter Workshops, maybe get sponsored by WSO or other sites to run modelling classes/ppt training etc. My advice is when I made the club I tried my best to make it the furthest thing from another class. Nobody wants to come to a 1 HR meeting of someone lecturing you about a finance topic. Make the meetings interactive but also educational.
