Struck out for SA27, What's best next step?

Recently finished up SA recruiting for IB, was able to get to multiple super days, but was unable to convert.

Profile is 4.0, multiple internships, solid extracurriculars, however at a non target (but has placed a few kids last few years).

After taking a step back after this process, I am weighing the options of next steps. I am open to opportunities in ER, PE, GE, AM, PWM, and IB

However, I am wondering what is the best move considering I want to exit IB after Analyst years, but not yet sure what exit I want yet, ideally something with a higher risk/reward as I have a high risk tolerance. Should I pursue a (potentially) higher quality opportunity in ER, AM, S&T? Or continue down the IB path despite now looking at regional boutiques/LMM? Given that I am at non-target, am I limited to WM at this point?

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

It’s over when you decide it’s over, fix weak parts of your candidacy. Ik kids who placed in April and even June. Good luck.

SA, in the end there will always be a spot open and if they like you enough they will give you that spot

Kids place all the way up until mid July contrary what this site says. Some banks may drop some roles in like May- June. You pretty much need to be doomscrolling LinkedIn every day for these opportunities. Ik Deutsche, Macquarie and a few others did another process last June for this summer. Its is pretty networking based as some of these opportunities may not even be posted for more than 2 days, so when they drop, email your contacts and secure a round 1. Now I do empathize with you that 95% of people are done recruiting and are coasting into summer atp with their offer, as that must feel quite annoying, but it’s not over for you yet if you really want IB.

When you say email your contacts, do you mean email them to say you applied? I have a few contacts at a bank I applied to but I am unsure if I should let them know. Coffee chats went well.

If the coffee chats went well, email them to tell them you applied and ask for a referral. Obviously use your own discretion on whether or not to ask for it.
