Study Advice for Interviews
Hi, I am going into my junior year of schooling and wanted to start studying for internship interviews in the fall. Does anyone have any advice about what they did to prepare for the interview? How was the interview? Thanks in advance!
Depends what your major is. I mean there are some basics that you can go through including facts about the IB, research the actual position to know what you will do in your role as well as what the senior guys are in charge of handling. It always helps to know what is going on in the economy, any big M&A deals that are going on, the state of the markets, and so forth. Besides that, if you are majoring in finance and accounting, make sure you know those fields very well as you will receive a lot of technical questions, If you are not a fin/acct major, you should at least visit investopedia and some accounting coach sites to familiarize yourself with the 3 accounting statements and some basic ratios. Lastly, make sure you resume is spot on and error free (but that should be obvious). Oh, and, of course, remember to relax. Each firm will require a bit of a different approach, but in general, those are some good ways to get started. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any other questions.
