Subpar excel skills

So I’d say I’m a very solid analyst overall (work hard, good people skills, dependable, etc) but I’m definitely below average at excel compared to my peers. I guess I just didn’t emphasize it enough in college and am genuinely impressed with the other first and second years analyst skills because that’s just not me. My question is - does that mean I’m better suited to just stay in banking and go A to A? I have a feeling that sub par excel skills will only be exacerbated in PE - would love to hear some peoples thoughts on this and if anyone was in my shoes but made a successful jump to PE? Thanks!

i don't say this to be rude, but you could just get better at excel? there were kids in my analyst class who studied sociology at some liberal arts college in the woods. sure, during orientation they looked like hapless oafs, but as a banking analyst you’re kind of forced to get good at it excel. after a few months everyone was essentially good enough to get by w/o issue or really good.

in short my point is, its silly to give up and plan your career because youre not good at excel. excel is not rocket science and i promise you, unless you were one of THOSE nepotism hires, you are smart enough to get good at excel with enough intentional effort and practice.
