Summer 2025 Internship Help

I an currently a rising junior finance major at a non-target, but still reputable school. I was late to the recruiting game as I briefly considered going into accounting. I have applied to so many internships at this point but haven't heard back from any. I have a great gpa and really enjoy finance and am eager to learn, but no finance specific experience other than financial accounting tutoring. This summer I am interning at a non-profit in my hometown as a development intern. Any advice or suggested firms to look into? I am not picky with location.

Network and reach out to school alumni that work in the finance industry to help you get a foot in the door. Really tough to land an internship/SA gig without networking. If you're looking for additional experience to boost your resume, I would apply to be a remote intern at a search fund/small PE shop. Those typically require 10-20 hours of work per week but are unpaid. It'll be a very relevant experience and help you for recruiting. Many firms will also post internships for 2025 in the coming weeks. IB and Capital Market applications start the process super early.

make sure your resume is great and that your experiences (even if not work related) reflect working in the field u wanna go into—so if you want IB / high finance, try to either show clubs you’ve done or something that points to the responsibilities needed to be good at it.

no brainer, but these things should be perfect.

finally, when there’s a recruiters name attached to a posting / listing actually reach out to them. have a genuine convo could get you an interview when you might get lost in a resume stack

all of yall talking about delaying graduation and wasting money here and there like you're entitled to a job in finance or investment banking when the vast majority won't make it and the sooner you people realize that the better
