SVP Lateral Advice

Looking for a little advice / wisdom for a more senior (but not the top!) person to lateral

A few facts:

SVP / Director at a top 4 BB in lev fin. Have really hit a wall with the grind and generally don’t think it gets much better at MD / with pay trajectory (from what I see / know what peeps get paid). Also have a young family and been around long enough to know there are easier ways to make close to the same comp but with a much better lifestyle.

Thinking of options that include PE cap markets (requires a fair bit of luck for a spot), private credit (investment side or IR specialist), corporate IR / cap markets roles and lastly private capital advisory (PJT, Evercore, etc) bc comp is better / improved lifestyle on the latter

Problem is I’ve not looked to lateral for a while and it seems like headhunters won’t engage unless they have a mandate or think you are too senior for majority of roles. Utilizing my network, but just feel like market needs are above and below me for whatever reason.

Does anyone have any advice on headhunters, other potential avenues to target, thoughts on what to look for? Feel like I’m staring into space so need the pitchbook boyz and girlz to help out ya boy!
