Switching from S&T internship to IB internship
Hey,
I'm a sophomore doing a BB (think GS, JPM, MS) internship in S&T this summer. I've been thinking about doing an internship in Investment Banking for my junior year internship, upon further reflection and long term career considerations. Of course, it's too late to switch my internship for this summer, however, I'm dead set on a BB internship for my junior summer. **Any advice on how to do this? Will the firm allow me to switch internally at the end of the summer to IB if I do well in S&T? Will my internship in S&T detract from my interest in IB during interviews? ***(I attended a non-ranked nontarget university for my first two years of college and I will be starting at a target top 25 school this fall as a junior).*
I am very curious about this. I will be also doing a S&T internship in MS/JPM/GS this summer. I want to make the most out of it as possible, but I have just finished an M&A internship at a MM bank for which I got a FT offer. I really liked M&A. Ideally I would want to pursue this at the bank I will be doing my S&T internship in. Would be willing to start as an off-cycle internship after that for example.
Any clues of how to achieve this? Internally networking perhaps? Would this be risky?
