Actually curious about this

does OP swing the other way but just doesnt want to tell it on wso?

Given the current market, I would definitely pursue this opportunity. You are not in a position to be very selective. I read a thread the other day about how some other student turned down an offer because he wanted to pursue something more “prestigious”. He then went on to mention how he’s been unable to get interviews. Be grateful for what you have and stop pursuing prestige. You can always lateral later.

I would go for it, accept the offer if you get it, and then continue to quietly recruit elsewhere and reneg if you get a better offer.

If you don't want to reneg, you could always recruit for a different full-time gig post-internship, but I would argue that puts Barclays in a worse spot than reneging your internship offer.

Good to get a bird in the hand in this market.
