Talking with an MD tomorrow – how to prepare?
Interviewed last week for a DCM SA ‘22 role and found out today an MD wants to have a quick conversation with me over the phone. Anything I should prepare (behaviorals, technicals, market events)? Thanks for the help in advance.
Look at their LinkedIn. Try to get an understanding of the kind of person your MD might be. If you can figure that out you're on the right track.
Be prepared for technical and behavioral questions. Be prepared for anything. But regardless of anything, make it a conversation.
Thanks for the help!
Typically the more senior of people you talk to, the less technical things are (they arent the ones building the models or as close to the nitty gritty stuff usually) so i would expect more behavioral stuff or basic finance stuff. This is typically how things are, but be prepared for anything
You make a very good point here, but this still doesn't mean not to prepare for technicals. I had just finished a superday for GS/JP/MS and had a final round call with an MD. I was given a pretty difficult set of technicals by him, which very much surprised me. Totally was caught off guard. So would not expect technicals but don't think that you are totally not going to have any technicals.
