Target Recruiting

What is it like? I come from a school that is strong in accounting and we got wined and dined by the Big 4 and some smaller firms for roughly a month. Needless to say, it was badass. Do the top investment banks do stuff like this for the ivy and target candidates?

I am really just curious because S&T and Banking jobs are desired by everyone with a finance degree so I would think that banks wouldn't need to do this to get their top candidates. Or, is it done more so you choose Bank A over Bank B?

In my experience, firms will often do pre-interview dinners. If you get an offer from a BB, there is typically a sell day where they'll fly you to NY to persuade you to sign with your firm. Airline ticket and hotel aside, there's not too much extravagance. Boutiques, on the other hand, have more leeway in terms of expenses.
