Technicals in London vs US?

Hi lads,

European guy here. I am starting to prepare for recruiting for London and I was wondering if banks expect to answer technicals the same way US banks do. I go to a non-target and I don't have anyone to ask and on google I can just find resources that seem for the US (like breaking into Wall Street guide). Question is: is all this material good? should my prep be the same of someone recurring in the US or do banks expect different answers for technicals?

Thank you!

UK based guy who just went through the process for EBs and previously did a BB internship.

Technicals at bulge brackets are a bit of a laugh to be honest - far more of a focus on market knowledge and your motivations. EBs are ‘more’ technical but in comparison to what I’ve seen people talk about on the other side of the pond, still quite light.

BIWS, Guttman and Rosenbaum are still

the bibles in the UK and will be more than enough. Some EBs can get a little technical, so I would recommend going through them all thoroughly even if it doesn’t feel like you’ll need them.

Awesome exactly what I was looking for - just wanted to make sure that bankers wanted to hear answers the same way US people do
