Temp to Hire vs In Country Experience?

Staying in a Temp to Hire position (not employed and unsponsorable for licenses) in one of MS's Wealth Mangaement Operations buildings with hope of employment in MS in that building in a year or so (slower than I thought, but about the time required it seems) vs teaching English as a JET Programme ALT in a Japanese high school: what do you think is best? My goal is IB, WM either later or most likely never. I know this Q feels mildly absurd, perhaps. Very wannabeeish for sure.

The latter positions me better for Boston Career Forum, but I worry about diminishing returns, and aging which is a serious late 20s concern. Obviously, IB is the only goal I consider acceptable in my career; I consider myself something of a failure at this point.

My Japanese ranks intermediate low for spoken, abysmal for writing. There is obvious room for improvement there, or to simply let that atrophy and focus on attempting to make the shift from MS WM Ops to IB. Obviously, my Japanese econ professor thinks I should go do JET. But I am unsure. I certainly need to move fast. I can continue making IB applications from any position, obviously.
