it depends, alot of times they can push you to a first round. However, it depends how willing they are to go to bat for you (e.g. if they just say you can put their name down on the app vs. going internally to HR and telling them to give you a interview )
As long as you're not a paraplegic gerbil who can't speak you'll most likely get the job. On a more serious note however, just study for the interview like you would if you didn't have the connection since the person interviewing you will probably expect you to just be slacking off cause of the connection, but if you're able to show you're actually competent + strong referral you'll be more than fine.
