This is Investment Banking? But is it???? ... Please Help!

Hey guys,

I am wondering if you have some insight on what group this job description would be under in a larger investment bank - ECM? DCM? or totally different...

Here is the job description:

"Candidate will assist with all aspects of private placement activities. Specific responsibilities will include detailed credit analysis and financial modeling in connection with structuring and pricing debt securities; preparation of written offering materials used in connection with marketing securities to institutional investors; and the preparation and presentation of proposals for prospective clients of the Firm."

If you can give me some insight on what kind of position this is, that would be great!! It is for a small shop and all they do is private placement (debt?). Also, interested in Exit Opps? etc.

THANKS!!!

Long term goals: PE, MBA, Distressed Debt Hedge Fund, etc.

Could also be equity. Do your homework on the shop, there are some pretty fly-by-night EPP boutiques out there (but also some good ones).

This is totally DCM, this is very close to what I do. I'm pretty sure the only investment bank that doesn't have DCM, ECM, and Lev Fin as investment banking activities is MS. So most banks this will fall under investment banking.
