Thoughts on Guggenheim SF/Guggenheim in general?
Haven't seen much on this thread regarding Guggenheim, especially their SF office which seems new. Does anyone have any insight on their culture, deal flow, exits, or trajectory that they could share? Definitely seems like an interesting team.
The SF office doesn't recruit interns and only has a few renewables/ex-greentech capital MDs. The only way I've heard of someone getting in was by requesting a transfer from NY.
Anyone have any more insight ?
I know is that they pay very well and have been doing well in the TMT and HC space. Everyone I spoke to there said great things about the culture and benefits. Definitely in an upward trajectory considering the IB division was started a decade ago and already an "EB". Have no idea how they do on exits tho
They pay well and have great culture but are lacking in terms of exit opps and prestige. Hard to consider them a true EB yet
Exits are mostly mmpe with a few ummpe/mf placements. That being said this is pretty typical for other larger EBs (Lazard comes to mind being an EB with the most similar overall exits).
Lacks wso prestige if that matters to you but really strong dealflow. I'm currently a SA there and most interns I know are staffed on at least 1-2 live deals even during covid. Culture is really great and you'll meet very few hardos comparatively. Oh and above street comp is pretty dope too.
thanks for the info.. can you dm me?
no bc you're anon LOL
Thanks for this! Would love to hear more about culture of intern class.
Hard to give you more detail given that this year's program is online but almost everyone I've met has been friendly and sharp- not 'cutthroat'
How many hours on average do the SAs and FT analysts work?
It's really hard to give you an average number that accurately depicts the jobs. What really sucks is the unpredictability. For example. you could be completely free from 9am-6pm one day then all the sudden get a call for a project that you need to start asap or might need you to work through the night. On average I would say most people are working from 9/10am-12am sometimes more, sometimes less.
Hi, I’m definitely very interested in the SF office and would love to learn more about your experience there. Can you PM me?
