Thoughts on Lincoln Valuations / VOG?
Interviewing with Lincoln in their VOG group, specifically the Transactions Opinions group. Anything I should be aware of when it comes to the process, or when it comes to hypothetically working there?
For valuations in general, is this typically a route people would take as a stepping stone, or where you can see yourself staying for a while? I'm working in FDD at the moment, and I think it would be a step up in terms of experience, skill set, and compensation. But I do know people typically go the valuations route as a way to get into IB. Have been trying myself to get into IB but haven't had any luck yet, also not sure if I want to go into IB in general.
.
I talked to an Analyst in Lincoln VOG from my school a couple of times and he said he liked a lot due to the skills he learned working with sponsors and it seemed like more meaningful work (consistently providing value for clients rather than pitching over and over). He also said lots of people exited to IB but he wasn't looking to do that as he enjoyed the work.
I was seriously considering it, until I landed an IB offer a couple weeks after my 1st round with Lincoln, if you're not sure about IB it could give you a taste of the hours (50-60 a week) while not killing yourself, if you don't want to work more than what you do in VOG then it's pretty clear you may not want to pursue IB.
I think a good amount of people stay and a good amount leave, it just depends what your long term goals are, comp is not bad but not IB-level.
Granted this is all anecdotal and from a 3rd party but hopefully this helped.
Do you happen to know what total comps would look like for an analyst in the group? I was quoted at $65k, but that seems significantly lower than what I read on another post from two years ago. I also read that bonuses would range from 30-40%, but I wanted to know if that's still accurate for an analyst in VOG?
Not the originally commenter, but that seems low. Lincoln VOG’s biggest competitor is HL FVA, and their salary structure when I left a few years ago was 90-100-110 then 135 as first year ASO.
That’s intern comp
Pretty sure they’re 90 base as Ana analyst 1 . Bonuses under 50 as an analyst probably.
Good job. You will get cranked for several weeks a quarter.
Base is 85k. 20%-60% bonus. Will be worked similar hours to M&A. Would not work there unless you want to get pulled into the audit world.
