TN-1 Visa with CPA

Looking at potentially moving from Calgary to Houston for Energy IB/PE roles (currently working in Calgary for an Energy IB). I previously worked in the Big 4 and am about to qualify for my CPA.

Understand given the current climate that a number of employers are no longer keen on sponsoring new hires for the H-1B Visa. Was wondering even though they closed the economist / financial analyst criteria for the TN-1 if anyone has tried to come over under the TN-1 as an accountant for IB/PE roles (with their CPA).
