Just curious, but how did you recently secure an offer? I'm at one of the banks you mentioned and we wrapped up recruiting like in august/sep. Or is this not IBD?

Overhire? If you mean not all SA get a return, then sure, but full-time offers are never guaranteed after an internship. Return rates vary by group, and this is true for every BB
I took a Citi offer for this reason - they specifically don't overhire. Feels good in this economy. Best of luck top BB.
I mean... if you're bottom bucket enough to worry about getting a return, I'd look at another career path
My sense is that with banks having extended offers to all summer analysts regardless of performance due to covid everyone has overhired a bit. Even for banks that in normal times do not purposely try to overhire there are still some who do not return due to obvious attitude issues or realization that banking is not for them once they see what the work is really like in the office
What are you saying? Also the three banks that OP mentioned did not have 100% return offer rates across the board.
Bottom line is that the most junior ranks are likely bloated with the incoming class being a bit larger than it normally would have been
I’ve heard JPM overhires SA across most groups
GS is known to over-hire a little bit. MS/JPM have pretty high return-offer rates.
