Top BBs overhiring?

Have recently secured an offer for SA at a top BB for this summer (GS,MS,JPM). I’ve heard that these three all over hire their SAs but after surfing around this forum for awhile I’ve seen mixed information on MS and JPM. What do you guys know about over hiring SAs at all 3 of these banks?

My sense is that with banks having extended offers to all summer analysts regardless of performance due to covid everyone has overhired a bit. Even for banks that in normal times do not purposely try to overhire there are still some who do not return due to obvious attitude issues or realization that banking is not for them once they see what the work is really like in the office

 

What are you saying? Also the three banks that OP mentioned did not have 100% return offer rates across the board.

 

Bottom line is that the most junior ranks are likely bloated with the incoming class being a bit larger than it normally would have been
