bro just don't lie about your gp or fake your grades. You should 100% go work at a boutqiue or Big4 TAS vs B5 IB if it means even a 10% chance of being found out that you falsified information. Bay street is extremely small and word gets around quick. I think there are probably less then 50 SA going FT each year at the B5, you can only imagine that the recruiters know about the top candidates and vice versa. Also many cap markets early talent recruiters move around from the b5 banks and if you jeopardize your relationship with one of them, it could get tricky. I know of 2 kids at my alma mater who falsified their transcripts and they do not work in Toronto anymore, recruited for other geographies, domestic and internationally. (either by choice or maybe their contacts got burned after it was found out that they faked their grades). Just my $0.02

The recruiting team will look at whatever you submit but the bank will get one from your school as part of the background check

background checks involve verifying your degree and any school awards you listed on your resume. besides that there’s no way for them to know what your gpa is as your school won’t be sending them a grade report, so feel free to tweak your transcript as much as you want. best of luck, not enough ppl smart enough like you to game the system everyone’s too pussy

I know someone who faked their transcript and got banned from the bank as a whole. He got kicked halfway through his internship. He wasn’t a bad intern either which was the shitty part.
