Trading Analyst new in NY - social life

Hello everyone,

Just moved to NYC and trying to see where do traders mainly hang? I realized I cannot socially get along with most folks that do not contribute to a knowledgeable thought, idea or discuss something that invokes thoughts, feelings or humor.

Most peeps that are friends think alike and now we goofy but the initial stage of building friendships must meet that. Wondering if this is a normal thing and if so, mind advicing where do similar folks hangout in NYC?
