Transfer to SMU Cox/ UGA Terry/ UNC KF

I go to a complete non-target. I am a rising sophomore with a boutique IB internship this summer. Would it be worth it for me to transfer to a school like SMU/unc/UGA for my last three years? My goal is to land at a firm like RJ, Truist, or TD.

Yeah w/ high gpa and good internships (which it looks like you have), any of these schools would get you there. UNC would be the best school out of those if you choose recruit for NYC instead. Personally, I'm inclined to rank UNC > SMU > UGa. I'm not familiar with UGa placement though so I may be wrong on that. SMU has decent placement in Houston and NYC, and from my understanding UNC places well on the East coast. Not sure outside of that

UGA placement ain't great unless you're one of the top kids in their top club called Corsair. They have a pipeline to Citi but I think they take mostly diversity kids. Honestly non-diversity have a pretty rough time within the club as well. Most going to places like Truist

Not worth it unless you can transfer for this fall (looks like 2 of those 3 applications are closed) or plan to take an extra year. Recruiting is sophomore spring and transferring for junior year doesn't help. For those firms you can definitely go to a non target as long as you have IB experience, good GPA, and networking. Plenty of non targets make it to MM or even BB/EB
