UChicago’s expanding pre-professionalism

Traditionally seen as a hyper-intellectual and academic university where students focus mainly on academia. (For undergrad, not Booth)

In recent years it seems like it has become more mainstream and pre-professional though, especially with the addition of the far less theoretical Business Economics that integrates graduate level Booth courses into the curriculum. Apparently Business Economics students now outnumber regular Econ.

Do you guys see/sense this shift happening too? Is it reflected by any change in the placements of UChicago students in recent years?
