UNC vs Texas A & M Business Honors and general college decision guidance

Hi, I just received my college decisions and here are the notable offers I have. I'm not sure what I want to do but AM, WM, VC, Management Consulting, and Project Finance look interesting. Not super interested in IB but it's definitely an option. With all of the below options, I also have transfer option to cornell ILR, which is a pretty much guaranteed transfer after a year, but I'm not sure if it's worth it socially.

  • University of North Carolina Chapel Hill(Business school not guaranteed, need to apply later. Could use some insight on how important this is. Can I recruit well without being in the Business school?

  • TAMU Business Honors(In state tuition, 88k avg starting salary, which beats out a lot of top business programs, only 80 students, BH major, personalized program. It does seem to place well in MBB. I assume it's still non target though?

    - Pitzer College. Super small liberal arts college. Has access to the resources of Claremont McKenna and Pomona college but seems to not be pre professional at all. I would be an athlete. Should I even consider it?

    - Hamilton College. NESCAC. Similar to Pitzer but more pre professional. Would also be an athlete but I hate the location and weather.

    - IU Kelley

    - UIUC Gies

Can speak to TAMU. Went through business honors and loved my time at A&M, check out the Horizons program - a student / alumni run IB/Consulting prep program, and Aggies on Wall Street through Mays. If you get into these then you'll get plenty of interviews. Historically was mainly a Houston IB pipeline, but over the last few years are sending more and more to NYC. Alumni network as you probably already know, is very strong and Aggies will go out of their way to help. Also in general, competition for IB/Consulting isn't super intense - outside of the select group who know they want IB/MBB and are committed to the recruiting grind most students don't really pursue the path. Also if social life is important, that won't be an issue - massive school in the SEC it's a blast.
