Undergrad switching from Law to Finance: How should I pursue an IB internship for next summer?

I'm a rising junior at a target school and have been primarily studying law for the last couple of years, thinking that law school would be my destination after being an undergrad. I'm currently interning for a law firm in NYC this summer. I've really enjoyed studying law and haven't had much academic exposure to finance; however, my junior year will be filled with finance and other business-related courses and I honestly couldn't be more excited. I've been become more and more interested in the field over time while building my technical knowledge of finance/accounting by constantly reading articles and friends' financial textbooks in my free time.

At this point, though I enjoy law, I really want to pursue an IB internship next summer and am heavily considering finance for a career. I am concerned that I won't be well positioned for future internships, especially relative to other students who have a stronger academic background in finance. So, I have a couple of questions on which I would really appreciate some help:

1) How disadvantaged will I be since I am not taking finance classes until junior year, especially when compared to students who have been studying finance since freshman year? How can I overcome these disadvantages?

2) Is there any palpable way that my law experiences (primarily conducting legal and legislative research, calculating plaintiffs' damages, studying legal cases and trends, and probably anything else you'd immediately think of) may make me stand out as a future IB internship applicant?

3) Other than doing the basics like nailing my grades (I already have a solid cumulative GPA and tough course load), networking my ass off, endlessly prepping for interviews, etc., do you have any other general advice for someone in my position as I prepare for my internship search?

I would be grateful for any insight you guys have on any of my questions. Thanks a lot!
