Unpaid Startup Internship vs Paid BMW Sales Internship
Hey guys, Trying to finalize my summer internship (summer before freshman year) and am choosing between these two options: Unpaid intern at a solid VC backed healthcare AI startup - probably more of a general role, could learn more about strategy, VC, entrepreneurship in general. Paid sales intern at BMW - probably just a salesman position. I personally think the startup internship might be more interesting, and might be more useful since I’m thinking about starting my own company after a couple of years in industry (the founder was also exited from McKinsey and started a few different things - seems like a cool life path to me). My concerns is that the startup role might not be as well looked upon by firms because it’s less “established”? And also the fact that it would probably be unpaid (though personally I’m fine with that) - would that be viewed negatively by firms? Outside of IB I’m also interested in consulting, if that makes a difference. Thanks
